Aviator RTP, algorithm and provably fair

People ask for the Aviator algorithm as if it were a secret. It is published, auditable and verifiable from inside the game. Here it is, with the one-minute check.

RTP in shillings

Return to player is the share of all stakes paid back as winnings, averaged over millions of rounds. Aviator’s is 97%. Over a KES 1,000 session at KES 10 a round, the average result is about KES 30 down. The average is not the experience: finishing KES 200 up or KES 300 down after 100 rounds is ordinary.

RTP does not depend on your cash-out target. The payout curve is built so that cashing out at 1.2x, 2x or 20x all carry the same 3% edge; what changes is how the results are spread. And RTP does not reset: there is no “due” round.

The distribution

Roughly half of rounds fly away below 2x. Most end below 5x. Multipliers above 50x are rare but real, and there is no cap on the multiplier: the highest recorded coefficient is above 2.5 million x. What is capped is the payout per bet in shillings, set by each operator and shown in the game’s info panel.

The algorithm, plainly

  1. Before the round, Spribe’s server generates a server seed and publishes its SHA-512 hash.
  2. The first three players to place a bet each contribute a client seed (visible in the fairness panel).
  3. Server seed and the three client seeds are combined and hashed.
  4. The hash is converted to a number that sets the fly-away multiplier.
  5. After the round, the server seed is revealed. Anyone can hash it, confirm it matches the pre-round hash, and recompute the multiplier.

Because the hash is published before anyone bets and three strangers’ seeds are mixed in, neither Spribe nor the operator nor a player can steer the result. That is what “provably fair” means, and it is why predictor apps cannot exist.

Verify a round yourself

  1. Open the game menu → Provably Fair (shield icon).
  2. Pick a finished round from the history. You will see the server seed, the three client seeds, the combined hash and the resulting multiplier.
  3. The panel recomputes everything for you. To do it outside the game, paste the server seed into any SHA-512 tool and compare the output with the hash shown before the round.

If a round ever failed this check it would be industry news. None has.

Certification

Spribe’s games are supplied under licences from the Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission (the UK licence was suspended in October 2025 over hosting-authorisation paperwork and the suspension was lifted in spring 2026; the game’s fairness was not the issue). In Kenya, operators carrying Aviator must run an approved control system under the Gambling Control Act 2025. About Spribe and the legal position.

What this means for play

Aviator is fair in the sense that counts: the result is fixed before you bet and you can verify it. It is also a game with a 3% edge, so over enough rounds the house is ahead. The only decision you own is when to cash out, and the strategy page is about making that decision on purpose.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of Aviator?

97%, published by Spribe. The house edge is 3% averaged over a very large number of rounds.

What is the Aviator algorithm?

A provably-fair draw. Before each round the server generates a seed and publishes its hash; the first three bettors contribute client seeds; the combined seeds are hashed with SHA-512 and the result sets the fly-away multiplier. After the round the seeds are revealed so anyone can recompute the hash.

Is there a maximum multiplier in Aviator?

No cap on the multiplier itself; the recorded maximum is above 2.5 million x. Operators cap the payout per bet in shillings, shown in the game's info panel.

What is the volatility of Aviator?

Low to medium at low cash-out targets, high at high targets. Because you choose the target, you choose the volatility.

Can an operator change the Aviator RTP?

No. The game runs on Spribe's servers with a fixed 97% RTP. Operators set stake limits and maximum payouts.
